Update from the Amblecote Neighbourhood Policing Team Dear Residents, Please see below some of what has been happening: Officers have carried out foot and vehicle patrols in Amblecote, particularly around Thorns Road, Trinity Road, Withymoor Village and Brettell Lane and Richardson Drive areas due to reports of speeding and off-road bikes and electric scooters at these locations, together with ASB reports. Crime prevention drop-in surgeries have been held at Starbucks (within Sainsburys, Turners Lane) and, also Costa Coffee (off Stourbridge Ring Road). These drop-ins are successful in engaging with members of the local community and establishing concerns. Crime Prevention drop-in has taken place at The Bonded Warehouse, Stourbridge and patrols of the canal areas has taken place. As schools have now broken up for the summer, end of school day patrols have been carried out around Amblecote schools. Some issues were identified with bad/inconsiderate parking, and letters will be sent out in the post. **Residents/parents/carers, PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN BUS LANES/ON DOUBLE YELLOWS/ON ZIG ZAG LINES/OR CAUSE AN OBSTRUCTION ON FOOTPATHS when dropping off/collecting your children! #keepingchildrensafe Officers are continuing to investigate shop thefts which have been reported to us in relation to the One Stop, Turners Lane and Sainsburys. Junior ‘Speedwatch’ has taken place at Amblecote Primary School where children were monitoring the speed on Collis Street. Lots of positive reports have been received, and the children really enjoyed their time carrying out this activity. Officers visited the Dementia Café at the Crystal Gateway, Brettell Lane, which was a positive opportunity to engage with residents/carers. Vehicles We are continuing to recover stolen vehicles used in crime or being driven by uninsured drivers. If you have noticed any suspicious vehicle in your road or that appear to have been abandoned, please let us know so we can do some checks on them. Off Road Motor Bikes / e-scooters Officers are continuing to monitor Withymoor park and playing fields, with reports of off-road bikes at the location. PLEASE NOTE: Off road bikes, e bikes and scooters are a nuisance in all areas - any information, photographs of the riders or bikes is a big help to the police, this will help get these vehicles removed from our streets.
